Enter the basement from the walkway on the side of the building. There are steps into the basement. The church is on the north side of North Avenue between Francisco and Richmond, across the street from Humboldt Park. Get off the 72 North Ave bus at Francisco, or get off the 94 California Ave bus at North Ave and walk west.
There is plenty of on-street parking eastbound on the south side of North Ave adjacent to Humboldt Park, or in a small parking lot behind the church.

Ray's 1948 Post-High School Vacatiom

In 1948, Ray visited New Orleans, LA, San Francisco/Oakland, Portland, Seattle, and Victoria and Vancouver, BC. He'll present slides taken on subsequent visits to these places plus those from that era he had acquired along the way before he had his own 35 mm camera.
This is inspired by a program given a few years ago by David Wilson.
His means of transportation between these places was via one of the freight steamships owned by the company his father worked for at the time. They had an intercoastal domestic service between the East and Gulf ports and the West Coast. all of which is long gone. Ray had a good six weeks for the trip between his mid-year high school graduation and when he started at Northwestern University.
